Bio: Once upon a time (since all good stories must begin this way), there was a little girl living in the country. She had a nice family with three younger siblings, a dog, two cats, and various fish. There was a forest in the backyard that formed the site of many battles for the freedom of Middle Earth, or Narnia, or Redwall, or whatever the land of the day was. She went to church on Sundays, to the library on Thursdays, and was safely homeschooled. It was a good life, and that was all.
Then, one day at the library, she found a book. It was an unusual book, unlike any she had read before. Its name was Zero Hour: Crisis In Time. The little girl read the book, and wondered who all these people were. She thought these superheroes were interesting. Later, she found more books, about different superheroes. She read these books, and decided that she liked these superheroes very much. Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, X-Men... These were all old books, and she read old adventures, and she liked them.
The little girl, who was no longer quite so little, continued to read books about these other superheroes. And over time, the stories grew darker and stranger, and suddenly the girl was no longer quite so interested as she had been. But then she found another book, showing crossovers between these superheroes and others. And she read these books, and recognized some of the other heroes, and she remembered Zero Hour and its interesting story. And then she found another book, and in this book read about a team of heroes and how they stopped Mageddon from turning Earth's population against each other. And she decided that she liked the JLA. And so she began to read more about them. And more about Green Lantern. And more about the Flash. And more about the Justice Society. And suddenly, the girl, who was now a young woman, realized that something had happened. She was a DC fan.
The little girl turned young woman is now a college student with her eyes on medical school, but she is still a DC fan, and she reads their books quite eagerly. This story is not over, however...it's continued in the next issue!
(No idea why I wrote it that way, but...it works.)
Favorite Color: Green
Favorite Band: Celtic Woman, Enya, or Two Steps From Hell. Any or all of these.
Favorite Movie: I have to pick one? I love pretty much all the DCAU films--most superhero films, actually--the LotR trilogy, the Narnia films, lots of Star Trek...I really do have a list.
Favorite Game: LotRO (I'm on Imladris!) and DCUO (I'm Jadespeed!)
Favorite Food: Hm...I'm going to go with my dad's lasagna.
Favorite Character: Ooh, decisions...I like Green Lantern Kyle Rayner, and Barbara Gordon is just flippin' amazing, whatever her role, but especially as Oracle. Dick Grayson/Nightwing is cool. So is Green Lantern Alan Scott. And the Flash/Jay Garrick. Much of the JSA, really. On a non-DC note, Donna Noble from Doctor Who is pure win and must go on any list of this sort.
Favorite Day of the Week: Friday, because then I am done with classes and can go play my speedster on DCUO.
Chore you hate: Taking out the trash. Or shoveling the snow. Or bringing in the wood.
Pet Peeves: People who don't seem to know how to turn the volume down. We don't all want to hear Gilmore Girls down the hall at 2:00 am, you know.
Talents: Writing (I hope; I do it enough), drawing (same as writing), singing...way too much daydreaming...
I...
Am: nerdy and proud of it.
Want: a green power ring. Or super speed. Or the Doctor to show up and invite me to travel in the TARDIS. Or kitties. I'm not picky.
Need: sanity. Lost mine a long time ago.
Love: my family! <3
Hate: getting up for 8:00 am work.
Feel: tired, far more often than I should. Except I'm a college student. Comes with the territory, I suppose.
Did: my lab book. Which I swear hates me.
Miss: my kitty.
Am annoyed by: the girls across the hall who seem to dump a bottle of perfume on the carpet every two days. Phew!
Would rather: be a superhero.
Am tired of: being tired.
Will always: love my mum and dad. <3
If you could have any Superpower, what would it be? Super speed. Or flight. Or a green power ring. I really can't decide between those three.
What are three things you want to do before you die?
1. Have kitties. LOTS of kitties! Crazy cat lady. That'll be me.
2. Fly a helicopter.
3. Go to Ireland!
If I were a Mythical Animal I'd be...a dragon. Green. Not super large, but big enough to be impressive. And very good at flying.
If I were a facial expression I'd be...obviously lost in thought.
