[glow=blue,2,300]Jason Carwhile[/glow] At the end of the world, Or the last thing I saw, I was never coming home. Could I? Should I?[/size][/b]uuggghhhh," Jason groaned, tossing himself against a tree and sliding down to sit in the grass. He'd just gotten out of his house when he opened the envelope he'd gotten in the mail that morning, and found it was his report card. His English grade was terrible. All the do's and don't's of the English language were frustrating to no end! Not to mention his drama teacher just wanted to flunk him, because he told her a woman with two left feet shouldn't wear six inch heels. It wasn't his fault she would kill herself in those shoes. Jason was French. Born and bred. He came to America two years ago to escape the family feud when his family's crime organization went up in smoke after his parents' deaths, and only started American high school this year, barely having time to hide himself in the small down on the coast of Rhode Island and grieve for his folks before society demanded he move on with his life. He had half a fortune stowed away and an appartment filled with couches (first thing he did in America was buy a cheeseburger and four couches for his home) and food, an that was all he needed. He rubbed his pale face. Being American was so hard. Do this, do that, buy this, wear that. He just wanted to have friends and live his life, why did he need a flatscreen TV to do that? It was all bull. He shoved his report card away and looked up at the sky with soft hazel eyes. It was sunny, and warm, unlike it had been for quite some time, and the park glistened with early morning dew. It was still breakfast time and he'd skipped today. His stomach objected, but he couldn't eat now. He was practicing being American, and laziness was his first lesson. He sat there in the sunshine and sighed, using his backpack as a cushion against the tree as he ran his fingers through his soft black hair. Ah, American life. [/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul]

Huffing lightly Wally entered the park, mind set on stretching for a bit, hopefully catching some eye candy to look at while he rested. Running without using his powers was so relaxing, and today was a perfect day to do it. Everything just screamed calm and uneventful, as the weather was absolutely magnificent. Hence why he chose to make the park his final destination, before running back home: girls would maybe, probably, be sitting around in small groups, enjoying the sun, gossiping and looking absolutely gorgeous. Just his kind of day.
Leaning against a tree Wally let himself catch his breath, turning down the volume of his iPod which currently was blasting 'I'm sexy and I know it' too loud to not bother someone near him in the park. Wally Bent over and grabbed a hold of his red running shoes. What? One couldn't be a flash fan just because they were the infamous Kid Flash, fastest AND hottest boy alive? Deeming his semitendinosus well stretched, Wally let himself flop down besides the tree swinging his left leg over the other, knee by his chest, pulling it slightly to stretch vastus lateralis muscle. He continued stretching for a couple of minutes, before letting himself lean back against the tree, allowing himself to take a look at the park. Oh yes, he had been right. Lots of girls. He smiled to himself; Just his kind of day.
((Lol I have no idea if those are the actual muscles those stretches stretch, but it sounds smart, no? ;D ))

Hands in his brown jean pockets, gray converse tapping on the park walkway, he took a deep breath and let it out, sighing. It was so beautiful. Too bad, Bruce had sent him out to get thw wrench so he could teach him how to fix cars. Rich knew a little about cars - but nothing he could carry out on his own yet. So he really needed this lesson; but surely a nap wouldn't be out of the question? He was looking for somewhere to crash when he saw out of the corner of his eye a familiar figure. Ginger, sly as if on the prowl, like always, in his red running shoes, Wally stood against a tree close by. They weren't supposed to know each others secret identities, but Wally and Rich were close, closer than brothers, and they'd made an exception. Since then they'd had to sneak around just to play video games together. It kind of sucked, but the secrecy was at least an adventure in itself. Richard grinned. He was not passing up this opportunity. Crossing the grass to get to him, he was walking a bit too fast, and when he swerved around a tree he tripped and pitched forward into the grass. Smoothing over one shoulder as he turned a summersault, he came to a dizzy stop with the paper bag gone, rubbing his head. That had been unexpected. He was walking too fast; but who had he run over? Turning, he blinked through his shades to see a boy that looked like his clone with the brown paper bag in his lap, looking just as dazed as he felt. The only difference was the tint of dark blue in the other boy's hair and the confused hazel eyes. "Sorry, man," Richard apologized, scrambling to get up on his haunches, "I didn't see you there! You ok?" [/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - " I'm begging you to be m y escape. [glow=blue,2,300]Jason Carwhile[/glow] At the end of the world, Or the last thing I saw, I was never coming home. Could I? Should I?[/size][/b]ason yelped as someone tripped over his legs, and an 'oomf!' escaped his lips as a heavy package landed in his lap. It was aimed very well, and he groaned in pain as the boy scrambled for an apology. He picked it up, and carefully bending his legs as he sat up, he nodded an held it out to him. "It's good, friend," he squeaked, "you've got quite the aim." When he looked up, he was startled at the resemblance. It was like looking into a mirror! A pang of fear went through him. Was it his cousin? No, wait, those blue eyes. Contacts? They looked real enough to him. His cousins all had hazel eyes. But he was missing that creepy look, those glinting grins that his cousin and his sister used to give him. It couldn't be him. Jason tilted his head to the side, eyebrow raising. "Do I know you?" He questioned. They could almost be twins. That'd be creepy - and especially dangerous if this kid came from Jason's family at all. Because then even if he was illegitimate, Jason's cousins would hunt him down if he had any claim to their company. They'd kill him for sure - or buy his silence. No, they wouldn't even waste the money. They'd just send someone with a debt to kill him off. Jason looked over the boy again, seeing the strange ease of his movements, and wondered how he hadn't sprawled all over the grass after that fall. He'd have to be pretty fit. More suspicion rose in him. Who was this guy, anyway? [/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul] (( i figured we didn't have to wait for chika anymore. . ))

" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -[/b]ichard was dazed at first, but now stopping to look, he gaped. This kid looked just like him! It was almost creepy! The only difference was his eyes. His electric blue eyes were replaced by deep hazel ones in this guy, and there was a glint of suspicion there as well. Falling back to sit on his butt in the grass, Richard took the bag offered to him and shook off his shock to recall his manners. He winced, "I felt that one!" He whistled, "Sorry, bro! Didn't mean to crush you! Your leg jumped out in front of me - no joke." As he asked him if he knew him, Richard clutched the bag and hesitated. It was almost as if he did know him, but that was too weird, seeing as they looked exactly the same save for the French curve in this kid's frown. "No, I don't think so," he admitted, holding out his hand, "I'm Richard. Richard Grayson. And this is my tork wrench." He joked, grinning sheepishly. Poor guy! He crushed his junk. All the same, they were uncannily similar. Complexion, face, hair, body type - this kid had more neatly trimmed nails, though. Richard's were cracked and uneven because of his vigorous training - this guy looked a lot more together, actually. His hair was combed perfectly, his clothes were ironed, and there wasn't so much as a blemish on his face. He must take good care of himself. Frowning, Richard racked his brain. What kid his age who looked exactly like him would be so well groomed? Was he rich? Those $80 moccasins sure seemed to say so. Whatever the case, he was a nice kid, and Richard was curious about him. [glow=blue,2,300]Jason Carwhile[/glow] At the end of the world, Or the last thing I saw, I was never coming home. Could I? Should I?[/size][/b]ason's expression remained impassive. He shook the boy's hand, hardly a twitch of a smile on his lips from the joke. "Nice to meet you, Richard. I'm Jason." He looked at the wrench bag. "Charmed." He looked back to Richard, frowning, "I probably should have been getting up, anyway. I can't lay here when my English grade looks worse than an unwashed soccer mom on a bad hair day," he said sheepishly, more self-degrading than joking. "but it was interesting running into you - or rather, you running into me. Where were you headed in such a hurry?" He asked, looking around. There weren't any food venders nearby, and no pretty girls. Did he know someone in the distance? Or was he just heading to an open spot to relax? It probably didn't matter - but Jason wanted to know. He was still afraid this boy was related to him - he hadn't heard of any Grayson's in the family, but you never know who had a mistress or other hidden lover. If he'd been kept a secret so long, he may be safe, but he didn't want to take any chances - especially with innocent life. [/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul]

Laughing at the boy's joke, he felt bad after, seeing the depressed look on his face when he looked back at him. Why was he so serious? With a sheepish smile, he wondered how much he'd been through to get him where he was. All people had a story, after all. Looking back to where Wally was, he shrugged, figuring connecting them as friends wasn't the best of ideas. Especially if Jason saw him and Kid Flash fighting together. "I was going to see if I could find some flowers. I'm headed home, and the folks love to put some in the house. But I'm pretty late getting home." He got up and helped Jason to his feet as well, both of them brushing wet grass from their jeans. "I better get going," Richard said, shifting the bag under his other arm, "but do you wanna chat later, or hang out somewhere? I'm always up for a burger. We could meet up at the Sundae Grill down the street some time." He suggested. He didn't want to leave on a bye,-never-wanna-see-you-again basis, and he especially wanted to know him. How often do you meet a guy who could be your doppelganger? Plus. he seemed like a good enough kid. Maybe they had something more in common than just a face. Jennifer set the shoes back on the shelf, glaring at them. They seemed to stare back impassively in a generally annoying fashion. Fashion: that was the problem. How hard should it be to find a decent pair of running shoes that wouldn't kill her budget? Jen huffed slightly and ran a hand through her short brown hair, tousling it further. No one had said being a superhero was easy. She just hadn't imagined it would be this hard on her wallet.
Jen had recently found herself faced with a problem that had never before crossed her mind. Of course, it seemed obvious when one thought about it. What was it speedsters always did? Run, of course. And she was running through shoes at a ridiculous rate--no pun intended. They almost wore out faster than she could replace them, and it was going to kill her finances unless she figured out something else.
Not to mention the fact that she might be putting her secret identity at risk by always shopping for them locally. Someone might notice that she was constantly getting new shoes. Thus, the reason she was far out of town, wearing sunglasses indoors, wondering who had the idea to put sequins on otherwise sturdy shoes. Yeah, Jadespeed: the flashiest woman alive. Not happening. If she wanted sequins, she would have been Sparklespeed. Or something like that. She sighed softly. How did other superheroes handle this sort of thing?

[glow=blue,2,300]Jason Carwhile[/glow] [/size][/b]ason nodded, "Women and their florals," he joked lightly. "That's nice of you. My folks weren't the flower type - my mum had glade candles all over the place, mostly like cinnamon or apple pie. She liked food." As they got up, Jason picked wet grass from the hem of his jacket with such a somber expression. Messy, messy. He was such a neat nick. He looked up when Richard mentioned lunch, or 'chatting.' "Sure, I don't see why not. How about tomorrow? 12 'o clock?" He couldn't let him go just yet, after all. Though it seemed he wouldn't have to fight to get much out of him - he was a good guy. But the Sundae Grill? He'd go looking for it, and maybe get a look at the menu before tomorrow. He was still starving, after all. [/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul]
