//Basic Information
Played By: Krepta
Codename: Batman
Civilian Identity: Bruce Wayne
Nicknames: "The God Damn Batman", Bats, Batsy, "The Bat", "Him".
Gender: Male
//Description
Age: Early Thirties
Apparent age: Late Twenties
Hair: Glossy black, cut short in a typical "man's haircut."
Eyes: Blue
Height and weight: 6' 2", 210 lbs.
Appearance
Bruce Wayne: Bruce-- who is more the real disguise than Batman-- is tall, broad shouldered, and often suit clad. He screams old money where ever he goes, but always has a pleasant, if slightly empty headed smile on. His blue eyes are kind and playful, though his reputation as an insufferable playboy proceeds this. Bruce Wayne is rarely seen without a lady or two on his arm.
Bruce is usually known as a bit ditzy and a little more so clutzy. He tends to bump into people and occasionally trip over things, but he always seems to be light on his feet when he's trying to impress the ladies.
Batman: Batman, unlike his other persona, is an imposing figure indeed. Draped in a scalloped black cape and a point eared cowl, he takes on the visage of a bat in human shape. Beneath the black cape, cowl boots and gloves is a storm gray body suit with a black bat insignia on the chest. His most common expression is a snarl or a scowl, or the infamous "bat-glare", and his eyes, thanks to their one way reflective lenses pin his victims with a cold white stare.
This is his most common outfit as The Batman, though he has many, many others, each with a different purpose. For an "ordinary" day on the job though, this is usually his choice.
However, it is truly the man who makes the suit, not the other way around. Batman's body language is the most important part of his costume. His stance is aggressive and confident, and he walks with purpose. Batman rarely speaks unless what he's saying is important.
//Abilities: Meta and Natural
Meta Abilities
None, though he likes to say that his sheer stubbornness is a meta ability. One might also argue that his high intelligence could easily reach those above genius levels, but other than this, his abilities are not inborn, but a result of hard work and training.
Natural Abilities
Batman, first off, is extremely intelligent. There are few languages he doesn't know, and he's gone to school for nearly everything from chemistry to anthropology. One never knows when one might need to know something obscure. No doubt something that irks villains like The Riddler to no end.
Some of the stated things that he's studied in are:
- Forensics
- Criminology
- Law
- Forensic Accounting
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Geology
- Computer Science
- Foreign Languages: Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, and Spanish
Beyond that though, Batman is well practiced in many kinds of martial arts and fighting styles, some of which are, but are not limited to: Aikido, Boxing, Capoeira, Hapkido, Judo, Karate and Jujitsu, as well as Krav Maga, Kung Fu, and Savate. He also has trained his body to the height of physical perfection. His reflexes and durability are astounding for human levels thanks to the trails and training he puts himself through, and his mind is just as fit.
Money helps as well. Batman has no illusions about his sheer amount of wealth and has used it to fund projects such as the Justice League's Watchtower, as well as his own Batcave and all of it's gizmos and gadgets.
Equipment: Batman has a lot of equipment and all of it very important. Not all of it is stated here, but all the important bits like his suits, vehicles, and the Batcave.
The Batcave
Located deep beneath the Wayne mansion in expansive, well secured caves is the famous, or perhaps infamous Batcave. The Batcave is enormous, able to hold within it fully equipped Crime Labs, bays for land and sea vehicles as well as air, not to mention repair shops for such, a large supercomputer, a trophy room, a training area, medical facilities, and beneath that, a secret access tunnel to Gotham's subway system.
The Batcave is equipped with state of the art security systems with features such as motion, infrared and proximity sensors, not to mention self sealing steel doors as well as many other booby traps and unpleasant surprises for uninvited guests. In case someone does get past security, there are many hidden escape routes within the cave for quick getaways as well as the more obvious door for the Batmobile, disguised on the outside as an overgrown cliff face.
The Batmobile
The Batmobile is an advanced, well armored machine. Often times it serves not only as Batman's transportation, but his life-line. The Batmobile itself is long and black, and just as completely Gothic looking as the man who drives it and the city he protects. It's lightweight composite armor is decked out in low gloss, anti-reflective black paint, and it's bullet-proof windows are tinted equally as dark. Its tires are tough, auto-re-inflating tires that use a gas and sealant mix to heal punctures and a re-inflate the tires should anything manage to puncture them.
Its security system is no joke either. The Batmobile first and foremost has an excellent set of security cameras, built into the car like those on police vehicles. Should anyone trying to break into the Batmobile manage to escape its other security systems, Batman will always be able to track them down later using images downloaded to the supercomputer in the Batcave, as well as track it through the Batmobiles GPS chip.
Beyond this though, the Batmobile employs a variety of security devices and deterrents to halt trouble makers in their tracks. Some of which are a 50,000 volt taser-deterrent activated at special points on the car, such as the door handles. Other security features include side mounted regurgitant gas foggers, hyper sonic trilling spheres, motion tracking glue guns that fire a goopy adhesive foam that can be removed only with certain specially mixed solvents, and if worse comes to worse, a self destruct mechanism. The deactivation system is voice activated and keyed only to Batmans voice and a limited number of others.
Along with these security features, the Batmobile has some other useful gadgets as well. There are the more expected ones, like GPS navigation and access to police band channels, then some more exotic ones like the driver side ejector seat, the chain and barrier cutters, the automatic pilot and remote control, forward, rear, and side mounted grapnels, rocket engines, emergency drag chutes, and a hydraulic ramp that allows the Batmobile to pick itself up and turn on a dime if Batman so needs to.
There are other such vehicles like this for air or water, but the essential features are mostly the same. Batman is always ready for the best of days or the worst of days.
Batsuit
Batman's costume is just as useful as it is for show. The frightening visage of a bat may intimidate enemies into submission, but if that should fail, Batman is always ready for action thanks to the lightweight, fireproof Nomex fabric it's made out of. To protect him from gun fire, there are Kevlar panels sewn into the chest and torso areas of the suit. That bat symbol in the middle serves more purpose than one might think. The symbol's purpose is to give enemies a target to fire at-- more aptly, a target where the most Kevlar on the costume is.
Unlike Superman, who doesn't mind standing out and can get away with wearing bright, primary colors, Batmans grays and blacks allow him to blend into the shadows and since he primarily works at night, this is key. Even Batman wouldn't be able to seamlessly slip away into the shadows decked out in bright yellow or blue.
His gloves provide traction and and extra oomph when fighting bad guys, as the knuckles contain pockets of lead shot. Not to mention gloves prevent finger prints and keep the GCPD from discovering Batmans true identity, not to mention the hoards of enemies he's made over the years. Batman may be paranoid, but he'd be dead by now if he wasn't.
His boots are light weight and reinforced with steel toes to provide and extra dose of pain to those on the receiving end of one of Batman's kicks. The boots also provide extra traction for climbing buildings, and both the gloves and boots are made partially with special Nomex fabric to further fireproof Batman.
Even his cape is not just for show. If there is a fire, his fireproof cape can shield him and others from the inferno, and beyond that, the tips are weighted. One swing from that cape is bound to be plenty painful.
There are many handy features to the suit as well. Some of which are in the utility belt, which will be explained later on. Within the suit itself however, is a handy dandy suit taser. While Batman is protected from the shock on the inside of the suit, those who aren't will get a painful dose of 200,000 volts of electricity. This can only be used once a suit, but usually once is plenty.
Also, within his Kevlar reinforced cowl, there is a com-link and receiver, humorously, located in the ears of the suit-- and the voice activated controls for the Batmobile and other vehicle, so that Batman can call them from a distance if he needs to.
Utility Belt
The source of Batman's seemingly never ending gadgets. The belt itself has seen many color changes over the years, but at the moment has settled at a mellow gold rather than the blinding yellow or sheer black of the past. Again, this serves to draw gunfire to the most reinforced places on the suit.
The belt itself can only be opened using special key pads on the costumes gloves, and as a further security measure, is locked onto Batman's waist. It has a self destruct mechanism if necessary, and a built in taser activated upon belt tampering.
There are many, many useful things within Batmans utility belt. Some of the things always on his person though are of course, Bat-a-rangs of many types, a secure link cellphone in case his comlink should ever fail, a small digital camera, a grapple gun, flex-cuffs, the contents of a med-kit, a verity of gas/smoke pellets and capsules, a re-breather, flash-bangs, a handheld taser, a portable acetylene torch, explosives, a finger print kit, night vision binoculars, a small laser, lock picks, and a well protected chunk of kryptonite. Paranoid, isn't he?

Origin of Abilities: Bruce Wayne grew up under the gaze of two watchful and loving parents. The Waynes were some of the few wealthy in a time of poverty. Desperation was high and crime was rampant.
Bruce's parents were killed and mugged over a pearl necklace while they were on their way home from taking Bruce to see a movie in town. Bruce was the only survivor of the incident at only eight years old, and from that point on, he vowed to make sure that such a thing never happened to anyone in Gotham City ever again. Since his parents were shot with a handgun, this is also the source of his hate of guns.
Some think that Bruce Wayne and Batman are actually split personalities rather than a disguise, but this has yet to be proven or diss-proven. Those who want to know can't find out, and those who already know won't tell.
//Weaknesses
Batman is wholly human, despite his many amazing feats and his physical and mental prowess. If caught off guard he can be shot, stabbed, poisoned, or blown up just like anyone else.
Though not necessarily a weakness, Batman also hates guns. It was a gun that took the life of his beloved parents, and thusly, he will never use one.
Batman tries not to get close to anyone either. Some say that he is almost cursed in fact, with his own love life. Anyone he truly starts to care for has always left him, turned, or died. There has been quite the succession of protegees as well that have suffered similar fates. Thusly, Batman isn't much of a team player and trusts no one besides perhaps Alfred and a few others.
//Personalty
Bruce Wayne: Bruce is known infamously as a rich playboy and a bit of a clutz. He has been described as ditzy, though good hearted and kind. Some have deemed him less than bright, though he seems to know just exactly what to do with the ladies. In fact, Bruce Wayne has even courted a lovely Lois Lane before, much to Superman's ire.
Batman: Batman is a cold, stern being. His stoney features break rarely from his famous narrow eyed stare and scowl, though if you catch him at the right time, you may catch a smug smirk sneak in. He does have a sense of humor, but it's hard to dredge up. Mostly he's known as cold, paranoid, but reliable. He's often the sharpest mind in the bunch and is often the one saving his super powered team mates rather than the other way around.
Batman doesn't talk much, and when he does it's usually only when it's important. He has, occasionally though, fallen for the great weakness of one-liners. No hero can resist.
//Background
Bruce Wayne grew up a privileged child with two loving parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne, and a bright future. He was well loved, and when his parents where busy, there was always Alfred to look after him.
Unfortunately, Gotham's own future at the time wasn't looking so shiny and squeaky clean. Employment was low in those days, and desperation was high, and unfortunately, poverty and desperation are dangerous things.
The night Bruce Wayne became Batman was a night like any other. His parents had just finished taking him to see The Mask of Zorro at the local cinema, and were trying to get home. Perhaps they had decided to walk back-- it was a nice enough night, or perhaps they had gotten lost on the way back to the car.
Either way, the trio wandered into dangerous territory-- into a place now known as Crime Alley. There was a man waiting for them there-- Joe Chill in those days, and he was just as desperate as any other man on those streets. Martha and Thomas Wayne looked like they had money-- and they did. It was not a good place to be.
Joe demanded from the two all their money, and at first they complied. After all, their lives weren't worth a couple of hundred, were they? And then Joe spotted the pearl necklace around Martha's neck. He grabbed for it. Maybe mistaking it for an attack-- maybe having just finally had enough, Thomas fought back. At first it looked like he was winning, and little Bruce cheered him from the sidelines. Then the mugger pulled out his handgun, and in two horrifying cracks, it was all over, and Joe Chill was disappearing into the night, leaving murder and an orphaned little boy in his wake.
At that moment, something awoke inside Bruce, or maybe it died, but he swore that nothing like this would ever happen to anyone else in Gotham ever again. That was the night Bruce became Batman.
At that time, there was no name for the fierce sense of vengeance that had awoken inside of Bruce Wayne, but he knew what he had to do. He began training-- and training hard, both body and mind. Only Alfred knew of his secrets, and of his inner turmoil.
With all the work done though, there was still no name for the beast. But one night, as a frustrated Bruce paced the floors of his office something winged and black crashed through his window, with glittering eyes and sharp little teeth. A Bat. Bruce took it as a sign, and thus, a name was found. Batman.
He began fighting crime on the mean streets of Gotham, and that was perhaps the best training of all, though he also studied and sparred with such names as Shiva and Richard Dragon. It was rocky at first, but quickly his name became a whisper of fear on the breath of evil, and a prayer to the citizens of Gotham. In time he matched wits with The Riddler and fought horrors like The Riddler and Killer Croc. In time, he became more than just a man, as he is today. He became a Batman.

Batman is a vigilante. The GCPD does not like this. While he's done nothing evil, he's broken many a law in the name of the greater good. Breaking and entering, stealing evidence, disturbing crime scenes. He has yet to be brought to trail and charged though.
